About Dr Reddy’s Foundation Dr Reddy’s Foundation is a not-for-profit organization set up in 1996 to enable socially and economically vulnerable groups to take control of their lives. We develop and test innovative solutions to address complex social problems and promote the scaling up of impact by leveraging partnerships. We work with Children, Youth (including persons with disabilities), Women and Households across 18 States in India.     About the scholarship Sashakt Scholarship is a one-of-its-kind initiative to encourage young women across India to prepare for and pursue a career in science. It provides a level playing ground to girl students, especially from rural India and low socio-economic backgrounds, to get access to quality education in some of India’s best science institutions by offering financial support and mentorship throughout their undergraduate studies. Salient Features are: The scholarship covers all three years of study towards earning a B.Sc. degree .Limited scholarships available, for students securing admissions in any of the 12 listed science colleges. With a lead woman scientists as mentor, the scholars are guided through the crucial stages of their education, apart from having a role model for a career in science. The scholarship award is Rs 2,40,000 (Rs 80,000/year) for three years of study, which covers the college tuition fees, study expenses and basic living costs.   Who can apply? Bright, young girls with a record of academic excellence, confident of getting admission in India’s best science colleges, can apply as soon as they complete their Class XII examinations. Only students who opt to study pure/natural science courses for their graduation are eligible for this scholarship. Preference will be given to students with rural backgrounds, economically weak backgrounds and  interest in scientific research. About the scholarship   The Trust has been established to carry forward the cherished dream of Late Shri G. P. Birla, the renowned Industrialist and Philanthropist, to promote education, develop human resources and empower the youth of the Country. With this objective, the Trust proposes to grant Scholarships to meritorious students, male or female, from West Bengal, who have in the year 2022, passed class XII examination and have secured 85% marks or more from WBCHSE or 90% or more from ISC/CBSE and whose family income is less than Rs. 3,00,000/- per year and as such are in need of financial help to pursue further studies. For students who are extra meritorius, maximum family income criteria may be relaxed in the specific cases at the discretion of the Trustees. Further studies may be in any stream including Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Lawor professional courses such as Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretaryship and Cost Accountancy if being pursued along with Under Graduation degree Course, in any recognized University/Institution in India. Scholarship amount, to be granted to a limited number of selected students, will be to cover Tuition Fees and Hostel Fees, [where applicable], subject to a ceiling of Rs. 50,000/- per student per year. The Scholarship will be granted students for one year at a time and to be continued upon satisfactory performance by the Student in the preceding year, as evaluated by the Trust, up to completion of the Course subject to a ceiling of 4 years, on yearly basis. Additional onetime payment of Rs. 7000/- towards purchase of Books in 1st Year shall also be given.     Selection Criteria For selection of Students for Scholarship, an Expert Panel, which presently includes Prof. Sumanta Basu of Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata and Dr. Rajib Das of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, will review the applications received and interview shortlisted prospective candidates. The decision of the Expert Panel will be final. About Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2022   Under Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2022, girl students who aspire to pursue professional graduation courses from institute of repute (NAAC/NIRF accredited) after 12th standard will be provided scholarship to pay their academic expenses till the completion of their graduation (degree). The professional graduation (degree) courses include Engineering, MBBS, Architecture, Design, integrated LLB, etc.     About Kotak Education Foundation Kotak Education Foundation (KEF) was established on 14th January, 2007 with a mission to address urban poverty through education & livelihood initiatives. KEF works in the impoverished areas of Mumbai - slums of Deonar, Govandi Chembur, Kurla, Dharavi, etc to empower children and youth from the underprivileged families through various education and vocational skills training initiatives to make them employable and lead a life with dignity. KEF’s scholarship for meritorious students includes financial assistance, mentoring and coaching sessions to assist the 10th pass, complete 12th and graduation. C. Mahindra Education Trust established the Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship in 1995. This scholarship is awarded to students belonging to economically disadvantaged families, who wish to pursue a job-oriented Diploma course at a recognised Government Polytechnic in India. This Scholarship was established to encourage and support young students from rural and urban areas to pursue job-oriented Diplomas. The Trust awards Rs. 10,000/- per annum to 550 students annually, for a maximum period of 3 years. Till date, 11,290 students have been awarded the scholarship across India.     Eligibility Criteria Candidate should have passed SSC/HSC or equivalent examinations in the 10th /12th standard with more than 60% marks. These long term fellowships provide the opportunity and freedom to build an independent research career in the UK or Republic of Ireland and pursue cutting-edge scientific research. Until this point, the University Research Fellowship (URF) has been a five year fellowship, with the option to apply for a three year extension. From the current round onwards, applicants will have the opportunity to submit a research proposal and costs for an eight-year fellowship. Costs for years six to eight will be subject to satisfactory progress and completion of a mid-fellowship checkpoint review at the start of year four. In addition to the change regarding the duration of the fellowships, the award value has also been updated with respect to previous rounds. From now on researchers can apply for up to £90,000 research expenses per annum to support the research programme proposed in their application.  These changes have been introduced to increase the stability of funding available to URFs, support them to develop their research group and give them the opportunity to focus on their research aims with a reduced administrative workload. About 2023 International Australian Alumni Scholarship The 2023 International Australian Alumni Scholarship recognises a connection international students have to Australian study. It is open to students from all nationalities who have previously completed an education program in Australia. The scholarship offers a 20% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of your course at ECU.   Who can apply Each applicant must be an international student who, at the time of applying, has completed, or is currently enrolled and is due to complete by 5 August 2023 one of the qualifying programs listed below, and receives an offer to study a course at ECU during the 2023 intake. Open to prospective international students including ECU Alumni, who have completed their original degree and receive an offer to enrol in November 2022 or 2023 into a new degree (for example those progressing from Bachelors to Masters courses). Available for entry into selected undergraduate and postgraduate courses as listed in the eligibility guidelines below. The scholarship will be applied directly by ECU on a unit-by-unit basis at the relevant census date. The scholarship can be revoked if the recipient does not accept their Letter of Offer or enrol in their course by the relevant date(s) specified. Commencement of the scholarship cannot be deferred. The recipient must pay their tuition fees within the stipulated payment deadlines. Failure to do so may negate the scholarship and the tuition fee structure may revert to full-fee international tuition. The recipient may become ineligible for the ongoing receipt of the scholarship if they receive a government scholarship, industry sponsorship or another ECU scholarship or grant during the term of the scholarship. Ongoing eligibility for the scholarship in these circumstances is at ECU’s absolute discretion. Research Grants enable scientists from different countries to collaborate on focused innovative projects that are expected to open new fields of investigation. Interdisciplinary collaborations are especially encouraged. Postdoctoral fellowships enable the most talented early career scientists to extend their scientific repertoire in laboratories abroad. HFSP fellowships are for 3 years. Fellows may choose to stay for up to 3 years in the host country or use the last year of their fellowship to return to their home country or to move to another HFSPO member country. Long-Term Fellowships (LTF) are for applicants with a Ph.D. in a biological discipline, who intend to broaden their expertise by proposing a project in the life sciences which is significantly different from their previous Ph.D. or postdoctoral work. Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships (CDF) are for applicants with a Ph.D. from outside the life sciences (e.g. in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering or computer sciences), who have had limited exposure to biology during their previous training. Former HFSP Fellows who return to their home country or move to a third HFSP member country can apply for a Career Development Award to support their transition to independence. Scientifically, they should address an important problem or a barrier to progress in the field. HFSP postdoctoral fellowships encourage early career scientists to broaden their research skills by moving into new areas of study while working in a new country. Two different fellowships are available: Long-Term Fellowships (LTF) are for applicants with a PhD on a biological topic who want to embark on a novel and frontier project focussing on the life sciences. Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships (CDF) are for applicants who hold a doctoral degree from a non-biological discipline (e.g. physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering or computer sciences) and who have not worked in the life sciences before.   How to submit applications Applications for the 2023 HFSP Long-Term and Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships (to start in 2023) will follow a two-step submission process via the online submission platform ProposalCentral. Firstly, applicants will be asked to submit a Letter of Intent from which the review committee will select the best proposals. In a second step, successful applicants will be invited to submit a Full Proposal.
