Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)
SAT stands for ‘Scholastic Assessment Test’ . SAT is globally recognized as a college admission test. It is a standardized entrance test used by most colleges and universities in the US to make admission decisions. The SAT is a multiple-choice, paper-pencil test created and administered by the CollegeBoard - one of the largest education companies in the world. It predominantly evaluates the written, verbal and mathematical skills of candidates. SAT is necessary for applicants to undergraduate courses, particularly in the US and Canada. Quite a number of universities in the UK consider SAT scores. To be able to compare all applicants based on a common data point is the main purpose of the SAT.

This information is important for you if you are just starting to know the SAT and your first attempt could be at the end of 2022 or at the start of 2023. The College Board recently announced that the SAT will go Digital starting March 2023. The new digital SAT will be shorter than the current SAT. As the name suggests, the Digital SAT will be done online and not on paper. Let's have a look at the new test structure (starting March 2023)

Who can take the SAT Exam?
Anyone who plans to study at one of the universities in the US can take the SAT. As such, there is no age limit for the test. However, most students take the test between 17 to 19 years of age.
How many times can you take the SAT Exam?
There is no limit on the number of attempts you can take the test. However, it is strongly recommended not to take more than three attempts.
SAT Exam Registration
If you plan to take the SAT, you must register for a slot at one of the test centres. You have to go to www.collegeboard.org to register for the test. You have to create an account on the website and provide the information such as your name, name of the school, city, country and much more required to take the test. You also have to upload your photograph.
